Ephesians 1:1-14
Last night the Bible study group began Ephesians. This is the 4th of Paul's epistles that we have worked through together. As in the others we saw that Paul does not use the word "apostle' as,a title in front of his name but afterwards as a gift from God. cf. Ephesians 4:8-11 We also saw the regular order of grace before peace indicating reception of God's grace is needed to have His peace.
We then began the magnificent passage, a single sentence in the original Greek, verses 3 through 14 where Paul describes some of the blessings we have in Christ. Note the little word "in."
Among these are God's choosing us,adoption into His family, redemption through the blood of Christ and our eternal inheritance.
All of this and more are to the praise of His glory. Verses 6,12 and 14.
What a glorious God we serve!
