Retiro da Pascoa

The Passover retreat (Retiro da Páscoa) has been held in the city of Vitória for an association of churches for 40 years. Vinci, its leader, shepherds congregations from many parts of Brazil and other countries. Canada, Chile, and Scotland were represented. This gathering is for the pastors and other leaders of these churches. IT began Thursday and continues thru Sunday. About 450 people are participating. There is exuberant joy as brethren greet one another that they may not have seen for a whole year. There are times of worship, prayer is emphasized, announcements are given about upcoming gatherings like a youth retreat and an evangelistic outreach to a poor area of Brazil called Sertao. There is a lot of teaching, both to the whole group and also on Saturday several teachings for pastors, women, and other leaders separately. I see friends that God gave me from previous visits and receive invitations to visit. I attempt to follow the messages in Portuguese. I am offerred translators regularly but will never learn if I always receive translation.
